Giving at WOGCF

The ultimate example of giving was set by God, as He sacrificially gave His own Son. In turn, His Son continued to be a giving example to us. God’s word also teaches us that every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord, and so everything you are blessed with ultimately belongs to him. You are entrusted by God with stewardship over your finances, resources, and time. It is your responsibility as a believer to be a good steward and give back to God what is His through giving to the church and onto others.

3 Ways of Giving

Time

We each have different gifts and it is important to note that we all possess the ability to give back to the body of Christ. In (1 Corinthians 12:4 it says, “There are varieties of gifts, but the same spirit”.

We should revel in the joy of giving of our time. Matthew 25:40 highlights this best; "And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."

Our treasure should be rooted in Christ, and used to further His kingdom. Luke 6:38 reads: “Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over."
