Meet Our Senior Pastor
Pastor Erick Hoskin
Pastor Erick W. Hoskin, Sr. is the Senior Pastor and Founder of the Word of God Christian Fellowship Church in Cypress, Texas where he is known for his heart, humor and clear presentation of the Gospel.
Since its launching in 2010, The Word Church of Cypress as it is known, has grown from eight (8) members in Pastor Hoskin’s home to over 1000 members and three Sunday Services, in a multi-million dollar facility.
Pastor E is the Son of Dr. Willie (Former Superintendent of the Natchez Public School System) and Lillie (Former Principal) Hoskin. He hails from Natchez, MS and is a graduate of Natchez Adams High School. He furthered his education at Alcorn State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. In addition to his B.S. in Administration, Pastor Hoskin holds a Theological Studies degree (2013) as well as a Master’s Degree of Biblical Studies (2015) from Grace School of Theology. Pastor E is also pursuing his MDiv.
Pastor E has long possessed an interest in empowering and inspiring people at an early age. This passion did not stop when he arrived in Texas. Pastor E accepted his call to preach the Gospel under the guidance of Pastor John B. Hollmon. After being licensed to preach by Pastor Hollmon, Pastor E went on to give leadership to various ministries at the Fellowship of Redeeming Truth Church (FORT). Serving as Assistant Pastor at the FORT, he gave leadership to the youth ministry, marriage ministry, and Men’s ministry.
Before birthing the Word of God Christian Fellowship in Cypress, Texas, Pastor E’s voice is heard preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in churches, conventions, conferences and revivals throughout the United States. He is the founder of the Word of God Christian Fellowship’s Real Men Standing UP (RMSU) ministry, where he focuses on the real issues which affect the heart’s of men.
He is the founder of EWH Ministries Inc. (Ministry that reaches outside the four walls of the church), which affords him the opportunity to host empowerment conferences throughout the states of Texas, Mississippi and Louisiana. This ministry is known for its charity and community involvement. i.e. scholarships to high school/college students, hosting the father/daughter dance, golf tournaments and gospel brunches.
He is active in the local Cypress Community where he serves as a member of the Community Leadership Coalition (CLC) with the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District. Pastor E also served on the 2014 CFISD Long Term Planning Committee and is a member of the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce.
Under his leadership, The Word has made an impact in the community through charitable acts, which include: its partnership with the Houston Food Bank, having provided food for families during the pandemic. A yearly backpack and clothing giveaway, Christmas Angel Tree which benefits residents of a local apartment complex the church adopted, and its “Gas on God” Campaign where WOCGF has sponsored over $6000 worth of gasoline to residents in the Cypress area.
Pastor E’s ultimate desire for WOGCF is to see Christ exalted, disciples made and believers equipped for gospel proclamation. It is his desire to carry the proclaimed gospel of Jesus Christ with power, anointing, revelation and edification. “For greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world.” I John 4:4
These achievements are just a few of the great works that God is doing through Pastor E at the Word of God Christian Fellowship (WOGCF). They serve as living proof of the anointing that God has placed on his life in the ministry.
Now, alongside his wife, Dr. Sheri L. Miller-Hoskin, Ph. D., Pastor Hoskin is continuing with the mission and vision of making an impact in the community, as well as evangelizing to members and non-believers throughout Cypress and worldwide.
Besides his role at The Word, in 2022, Pastor E accepted the role of Admission Advisor for Grace School of Theology. He also serves as the Chaplain for the Mu Mu Nu chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
